The Ionic has several great features. It doesn’t use a filter, but a collection grid. You won’t have to spend money on expensive replacement filters or spend time hunting for the right one. The collection grid needs to be cleaned about every two weeks. If your home is dusty or you have pets, you may need to clean the grid monthly. You will hear a slight hum when it needs to be cleaned. If the grid gets very dirty, you may need to wash it in water. You will have to let it dry for at least twenty four hours before running the machine. Additional grids can be purchased inexpensively.
The quadra doesn’t use a fan to circulate the air, so it is nearly silent when running. There are three speed settings and even on the highest setting, this machine is very quiet. The air is circulated through the room electronically. If you place your hand in front of the machine, you can feel the air moving. The movement is slight and doesn’t cause a strong breeze, like many fan operated air cleaners.
This air cleaner can treat areas under five hundred square feet. It is portable and can be moved around your home, or you could by two to cover the whole house. The Ionic pro air purifier is slightly more expensive, but can cover larger areas. The pro is larger, about twice the size and weight of the ionic breeze quadra air purifier.
