Allergy sufferers know a clean air filter can help them breathe a little more easily at home because it removes pollens, dust, and other allergens from the air. The truth is that there are many ways to help keep the air in your home cleaner. Whether you opt for a clean air machine or other type of air filtration system made by Honeywell, Bemis, Aprilaire, or Biozone, it is just one step toward making the air in your home healthier. There are many ways to help control the presence of allergens in the air in your home. Use of a clean air filter system is merely one of these.
Air Filtration is Next to Healthiness
No matter how many filterless air purifier systems or the clean air purifier you put in your home, they’re never going to completely clean the air unless you’re coupling their use with some good old traditional cleaning habits. Regular tidying up, including the rather loathsome chores of dusting and vacuuming will help to control the presence of airborne dust and dust mites, making your clean air systems that much more effective.
Clean Those Filters
By and large, filterless clean air systems are better than air filter systems. Filterless systems operate by introducing ionization into the air that makes the dust and other impure particles stick together. Eventually the impurities become too heavy to float and will literally drop to the floor. Air filter systems force air through the unit and attempt to collect the particles in the filter. This works wonderfully for large sized particles, but does next to nothing with anything that is small enough to pass through the filter. Disease causing bacteria and viruses usually falls into this category. The filterless systems just do a better job of cleaning the air.
If you do choose a filtered system of some kind, it’s very important that you clean the filter regularly. A dirty filter easily becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and mold that can make you sick and turn the unit that you purchased in an attempt to make your air cleaner into a potential disease spreading machine. This is the exact opposite of the intended use of a clean air filter.
